Our reserves had mixed fortunes over the extended weekend period.....read on

On Saturday they demolished last seasons Uhlsport Hellenic League Division 2 West champions City Nomads Development 8-1. It was a great performance and the recalled striker Mark Gaul (pictured) was in devastating form claiming four fantastic goals. He was well assisted by the returning Ravin Shamsi with a hatrick. The Green Machines tally was made up by youngster Josh Tooke.

Monday night was a different story as the reserves entertained City Nomads first team in the Hellenic League Floodlit Cup. The match saw the return of former Kiddy stalwarts Danny Leggett and Jamie Mundy. Hopes were high after beating Division One Cheltenham Saracens in the last round as a place in the quarter finals awaited the victors. However the match was all but over as a contest within the first 20 minutes with The Green Machine finding themselves 3-0 down with some poor defending the cause of it.

Nomads added a fourth on the half hour and hat is how it remained for the rest of the match, but the step up in class was a good learning curve.

Kidlington reserves more than matched their opponents for the last hour and there were many positives to take forward in to the next match away to Brimscombe & Thrupp on Saturday
