Kidlington started quickly as we counter attacked a Leighton Town corner, where a brilliant pass from Dineen Hollifield-Meegan found Charlie Bacon who was then brought down on the edge of the box.

Our brilliant start didn’t stop there as in the 9th minute, Dineen picked up the ball and drove towards Leighton Town’s box. A give and go with Powfil Raposo unlocked their defence and Dineen then slotted the ball home.

Leighton Town had their chances too as Harry Tucker struck the ball wide from a corner and Jack Sayell had his volleyed effort go over the bar.

In the 30th minute, after having zero balls inside Yarnton Road, Mark Timbrell was shown a red after entering the field of play.

6 minutes later, Charlie Barnett produced a fantastic save as he denied a Leighton Town free-kick which was destined for the bottom corner.

It was a fantastic start to the second half as we worked the ball well into the box to find Powfil Raposo, however, his effort was cleared off the line by a Leighton Town defender.

Toluwalope Ikuyinminu had the ball in the back of the Kidlington net 3 minutes later, but the linesman flag would be raised to deny any celebrations from the Leighton Town man. Their pressure would continue as Charlie Pattison had to efforts to get his team level with both efforts going over the bar.

Later in the 60th minute, Powfil had two chances to double our lead. He turned his man on both occasions but one ended up over the bar and the other he couldn’t get his shot away.

Leighton Town dominated proceedings in the second 45, however, Kidlington’s defence stood strong and denied every single effort they threw at them. A fantastic three points and another building block to add to the win away at Kings Langley.
