Kidlington travel to the E's

Overview
Kidlington head away from Yarnton Road when they travel to face the E’s, Enfield in what could be an entertaining goal fest at Hertingfordbury Park. As it stands, Kidlington are one point adrift of Northwood who sit 18th with five games in hand of the Greens
despite sitting one point ahead of Kidlington above the dreaded drop. Enfield sit in 14th place currently, the gap between the E’s and the relegation zone is slowly extending, currently they sit 14 points adrift from Kidlington. Both teams will feel and know
that these points are massive coming towards the end of the season. Last time out, Kidlington travelled to Thame for the quarter-final of the Oxfordshire Senior Cup on Tuesday. With the winner to face Oxford City, stakes were high. In the first ten minutes,
Kidlington started the brightest of the two sides. However, just after half an hour, Dan West’s low whipped cross found Jefferson Louis sliding in at the back post to give Thame the lead, and the only goal of the night. With the game finishing 1-0, Kidlington
need to dust themselves off and go again as they stood resilient to a dominant Thame side as the game went on.

Buzzing with excitement, Kidlington will look forward to returning to league action and now they can truly prioritise their survival chances to stay in the division. A lively Yarnton Road was left last weekend as Michael Hopkins and Opoku netted to seal all
three points and complete the uphill comeback battle after going two-one down early in the second half. Craig McKay’s summary on the victory was words of wisdom and celebration for his Green Army, but also not to dwell on this one victory, he hopes that the
performances can improve alongside the attitude and the moral of the team to give them the best chance of staying in Step 4. Tuesday’s matchup with Thame saw Kidlington defend well in moments, just lacking the clinical final pass. Positive signs as Kidlington
need to tighten up the defence and push for more positive performances away from Yarnton Road.

Enfield, The E’s, have played fifteen home games at Hertingfordbury Park this season and have picked up twenty-one points from a possible forty-five (W6,D3,L6). The reverse leg this season at Yarnton Road finished 3-1 to the Greens, were lacklustre and struggled
to get going against a solidly organised Kidlington. They’ll hope to look past the 16th of November and add another three points to securely book their place in the Southern League Central next season. Dimi Christou, George Thompson and Kieran Southgate have
been supplying the goals and entertainment for the E’s in recent weeks and they’ll be looking to get themselves on the scoresheet again as they host Kidlington on Saturday.

Kidlington - LLLWL

Depleted Kidlington travelled to Hertfordshire to face Hertford Town having not scored a single goal in the 2025 calendar year. Patrick Osborne gave the Greens the lead from the spot until the slender lead was cut just before halftime by the hosts giving Hertford
Town all the momentum going into the second half. Despite Kidlington trying to ride their luck, midway through the second half, Hertford Town took the lead and kept Kidlington at bay in a professional manner seeing the game out to win by two goals to one.
The league leaders then came to Yarnton Road as expectations from the Kiddy fans were at an all-time low as Kidlington hosted Real Bedford. 16 minutes is all it took before Ben Stevens was founded over the top of Kidlington’s highly defensive line and slotted
it into the bottom corner off the post to give the visitors a deserved lead. Joey Evans then had a free front post header to double the Pirates lead in the 46th minute. If you thought the game was done and dusted, it wasn’t. Joey Evans grabbed his double early
in the second half and gave Real Bedford three points with three goals at Yarnton Road. Oxfordshire Derby Day. Aylesbury travelled to Yarnton Road as Kidlington host yet another game in seven days. It only took three minutes for Kassim to open the scoring
for Aylesbury, before Will Burton doubled the lead within 22 minutes. Eleven minutes later, the comeback surely couldn’t be on but there was hope as Fraser Allen gave Kiddy a lifeline. The Greens came out the blocks fast, intensifying the pace of their game,
Craig McKay was pleased watching on and in the 65th minute, Matthew Gunn equalised for Kidlington and the hosts were carrying the momentum. Sonny French had the last laugh as in the 89th minute, a loose ball came out of Kidlington’s eighteen-yard box and a
sweet half-volley gave Aylesbury all three points. The Oxfordshire Senior Cup was on the horizon for Kiddy as they knew if they were to edge past Thame, they would have a tie against National League North side, Oxford City. However, this was not the case,
despite Kidlington hanging on and staying defensively solid, a Jefferson Louis close range effort gave Thame all the headlines as they beat Kidlington 1-0.

Enfield - DDLLL
Ware travelled to Hertingfordbury Park hoping for a good result in a midtable affair in the Southern league central. Myles John opened the scoring on the volley for Enfield just before halftime to give the E’s a narrow lead. Deep into the second half, momentum
gradually changed and in the 89th minute, Ware equalised with a header from a deep cross, the points were shared between these two. Drama occurred as Enfield yet again hosted top six Biggleswade in a tough challenge for the E’s. Daniel Bond’s brace came in
the 38th minute and from the spot in the 49th minute to give Enfield a mountain to climb at the break. Dimitri Christou started off what seemed to be a miracle. More late goals were scored as George Edgeworth netted a 90+6th minute equaliser to give Enfield
yet another scrappy point at home. A trilogy of home games was the case for the E’s as they welcomed Welwyn Garden City to Hertfordshire in what was an entertaining watch for a neutral as Enfield tasted heartbreak losing 3-2 despite Dimitri Christou and George
Thompson scoring for Enfield. At last! Enfield travelled away to Real Bedford at the Ledger Stadium with low morale picking up two points out of a maximum nine. Goals kept flooding for the Pirates as they were 3-0 to the good after an hour played before Kieran
Southgate gave the travelling fans a positive to look upon. Final score finished 3-1 to Real Bedford as the E’s failed to get started from the first whistle. Finally, Berkhamsted were the hosts for the E’s most recent league outing. A header gave Berkhamsted
the lead from a high looping header to give the hosts the lead. Kieran Southgate, the prolific man for Enfield provided again as Thompsons ball in was also headed home by the striker. A penalty was awarded to Berkhamsted, which was initially saved by Edgeworth,
but he couldn’t keep out the rebound as the host stole all three points from the E’s.
