Edward Carter9 Aug 2024 - 07:38

Kidlington returns to Southern League Division One Central action at Yarnton Road on Saturday afternoon when we host Kings Langley.

Craig McKay’s side won their opening tie in the Emirates FA Cup last Saturday, with the focus now firmly back on the Southern League Division One Central.

Jordan Parkes’ Kings Langley was taken to an FA Cup replay by Cockfosters FC as they drew the initial tie 1-1 when a late penalty saw Cockfosters draw level. In the reply, at The Orbital Fasteners Stadium, Kings Langley were also able to progress thanks to debutant Flinn Filler’s 83rd minute strike.

The Opposition

Kings Langley come into this game looking to start a campaign which would top their 11th placed finish last season.

With three signings through the door already, Jordan Parkes added experienced striker Lance Williams to their ranks. Williams had an impressive 23/23 which saw him score 13 goals in 17 matches. Definitely one to keep an eye on.

Team News

Unfortunately, starting right-back Sam Jenkins was injured in Kidlington’s 3-0 win in the FA Cup on Saturday as he limped off in the 42nd minute. With Dineen Hollifield-Meegan also being injured since our pre-season fixture versus Fairford Town.

Last Time Out

Kidlington progressed through the Emirates FA Cup after a 3-0 thriller versus Tuffley Rovers on Saturday afternoon.

Goals from Jack Smith, Zarius Edwards-Giraud and Charlie Bacon was enough to beat the Gloucester outfit.

Last Time we met Kings Langley

The Orbital Fasteners Stadium was treated to a action packed game, which saw Kidlington keeper Jack Hopwood being shown his marching orders after 15 minutes. Unfortunately, Kings Langley was able to take advantage of the spare man beating Kidlington 4-2.
