Against a very good Chesterton side

Kidlington’s development team have been drawn at home in the semi final of the Oxfordshire FA Intermediate Cup. A cup last won by the club 34 years ago in 1985. The greens narrowly lost in last years final to Chinnor and the semi finals on penalties to Oxford City Nomads the year before.

This year we will be hoping to go all the way but face a very tough semi final against a very good Chesterton side. After winning the Banbury & District League they now operate in Division One of the Oxfordshire Senior League and are favourites to win the league again. They have players that have operated successfully at Hellenic league level and it will be a very strong test.

The greens have had to do it the hard way in this years competition following tough away draws throughout, particularly when we overcame Headington Amateurs and Berinsfield by the same scoreline 4-2. North Oxford were despatched 6-2 in the last round, again away from home.

The other semi final is between Marston Saints reserves and Watlington Town. Our semi final will be played at Yarnton Road Stadium on Saturday 23rd February (ko time TBC). Make a note in your diaries to go and support the young greens in their quest to make history and end 34 years of hurt!!!
