Buildbase FA Trophy Prelininary Round

Kidlington 3 Winchester City 1

This was a match that never really got going until after the break where the scores were tied at 0 - 0.

The only real things of note in the first 45 minutes were a couple of wayward efforts from Kidlington's Little Magician Lewis Coyle.
After the break things started to hot up. Darius Browne came on to replace Duran Martin at half time and Kidlington then looked to have a better shape, with Browne slotting in as a wide left-sided player.
The first real chance of the half fell to Winchesters Pat Cox, but home keeper Sam Warrell did exceptionally well to save his effort turning the ball round the post for a corner in the 51st minute.
Lewis Coyle opened the scoring in the 54th minute when he finished a great move getting on the end of a Tommy Franklin flick to bury the ball into the top left hand corner of the net.
Kidlington then had plenty of other chances to increase their lead but some wayward shooting let them down.
in the 74th minute an almighty 'good old goal scramble' occurred with the ball seemingly stuck on the goal line, many players bundled in and when the linesman signaled the ball had crossed the line it was 1 - 1, 'The Citizans' Josh Harfield claiming the last touch.
Kidlington weren't done and with Lance Williams coming on to replace a tiring Mark Janes in attack Kidlington pushed on.
The Green's were all out on the attack now and and in the 77th minute Lance Williams restored Kidlington's lead when he powered home a cross from Darius Browne.
Other opportunities came and went for the home side before Adam Tomasso was sent off for 2 yellow cards deep into injury time, however from the resultant free kick 'The Greens' made sure of their passage into the next round when Darius Browne blasted home for 3 - 1 from a ball played into him from Coyle on 90+5 minutes.
Kidlington played really well especially in this second half and thoroughly deserve their place in the first round proper.
