Kidlington's team had a far more experienced look to it this week with skipper Tommy Franklin, Lewis Gabbidon & Tommy Castle all back in the starting line up for this Evo-Stik Southern League match.
Kidlington set about their business from the start and were dictating much of the early play as they built up pressure on the visitors defensive line.
With 'The Greens' building up pressure on the Arlesey defence the visitors were packing their back line and it has to be said doing extreamly well to repel everything that was being thrown at them.
All the time Arlesey were looking to find an opportunity for themselves to attack on the break, but these were few and far between.
Lewis Coyle came close to opening the scoring on 26 minutes from a free kick, however his dipping effort passed over the bar,
Arlesey very nearly took the lead on one of these breakaways in the 28th minute when a long ball over the top was chased by Jack Vasey. Kidlington keeper Sam Warrell was extreamly fast to react to the situation and raced from his goal to push the ball clear and avert the danger.
Kidlington's barrage of the visitors defence continued after this and only an excellent stop from their keeper Bart Pedeycz prevented Anaclet Odhiambo opening the scoring on 30 minutes.
Eventually pressure told when after some excellent work by Tommy Castle and Lewis Coyle the ball was played into the little man Anaclet odhiambo and he slotted it past Pedeycz for 1 - 0 on 38 minutes.
Kidlington finished the half extreamly strongly and were only denied another goal by the brilliance of their keeper, he firstly kept out Coyle with a block and then pulled off a good save from a Castle header.
Ht 1 - 0
During the break the fog started to drift in, but fortunately it never became to much of an issue, though sometimes it was hard to distinguish who was who from one side of the pitch to the other.
Early in this second half Henry Owen was replaced by Callum Harvey and Harvey almost had an instant impact when he crossed the ball into Anaclet Odhiambo, but his shot was always rising and went over the bar.
It wasn't long though before Harvey was to get his name on the score sheet. Tommy Castle weaved some magic down the left flank before delivering the ball inside to Harvey, the youngster took one touch before placing his shot into the far corner of the goal for 2 - 0.
Pedeycz saved well from Coyle soon after this goal and a couple of minutes later Anaclet Odhiambo was very very unlucky to see his shot fizz across goal, but pass the wrong side of the far post.
Kidlington were playing some good and controlled football with their midfield trio of Lewis Gabbidon, Elliott Osbourne-Rickets and Eric Odhiambo controlling the game.
In the end there were no further goals in the game and Kidlington had the 3 points which takes them up to 15th place in the table, their best position so far this season.
