The Greens came home from Cambridgeshire with a well deserved 3 points after beating Yaxley 2 - 1.

A 4th minute strike from Lewis Coyle gave Kidlington a deserved lead after they laid siege to the home sides goal in the early stages of the match.[/b]

However, in extreamly windy conditions Yaxley grew into the match and equilised when Charley Sanders headed home unopposed in the 17th minute.

Yaxley came on strong toward the end of the half but Kidlington held firm.

At the start of the second half Chris Jordan came on to replace striker Anaclet Odhiambo who had been a doubt to start the game. This substitution added imputes and with Coyle and Tommy Castle in imperious form on the left hand side of the field 'The Greens' soon had the home side on the back foot.

As it panned out it was Coyle and Castle who combined to set up Jordan in the 66th minute, and the striker didn't make a mistake burying his shot into the roof of the net for 2 - 1.

Yaxley were not lying down and a couple of good saves from keeper Sam Warrell and a brilliant off the line clearance from Marvin Martin were needed to kept them at bay.

The whole Kidlington team really battled well and thoroughly deserved this win. Julian Mccalmon's side needed a good result today and got one thanks to this good performance, next up a home match against Berkhamsted next Saturday afternoon, kick off 3:00pm.
