Our 1st Team returned to winning ways this afternoon at Yarnton Road winning 5 - 2.....read on

Kidlington were in devastating form in the first half of this game hitting their opponent Barnstaple Town with 4 unanswered goals.

A brilliant shot from Declan Benjamin (pictured) was well saved by visiting keeper Neal Osborn in the 11th minute, but Benjamin didn't have to wait much longer before he got his name on the score sheet. A good move ended with Harry Whitehead sending Benjamin away on goal up the middle of the park, he closed in on goal and rifled his shot past Osborn for 1 - 0 on 16 minutes.
We didn't have to wait long for a second goal, this time it was Duran Martin who scored when he calmly moved the ball onto his right foot before side footing home into the far corner of the net for 2 - 0 in the 19th minute.
Kidlington were very much on top during this phase of the game and it was no surprise when after some excellent work by Darius Brown, who had cut in for the left, send over a cross come shot which deflected in off Barnstaples's George Nancekivell for 3 - 0 on 38 minutes. Just after the half hour Browne scored a goal for himself. After Anaclet Odhiambo passed to him and Browne rifled his shot into the back of the Barnsaple net for 4 - 0, and that was the score at half time.
Early in the second half Declan Benjamin was replaced by Lewis Coyle and soon after that substitution Mark Bell replaced Darius Browne.
The visitors were certainly playing better in this second period and were rewarded when-substitute Archie Reay found some space in the Kidlington box and fired a low shot past Sam Warrell for 4 - 1.
Barnstaple keeper Osborne made a good save from a Lewis Coyle shot, but Coyle wasn't to be denied he made it 5 - 1 only a couple of minutes later. Coyle beat 2 defenders before drawing the keeper and side footing home in the 76th minute.
Deep into added time keeper Warrell came out to clear a long ball, but mis-controlled his attempted clearance, the ball falling to Harry Stevens who had an open goal to shot at and he made no mistake for 5 - 2 on 90+2 mins.
That was it and finally Kidlington were back to winning ways.
