Kidlington 3 Paulton Rovers 0

The only highlight of a pretty dour 1st half was Anaclet Odhiambo's goal for which much was owed to Darius Browne's persistence and a wonderful ball over to Anaclet at the far post. This all happened in the 35th minute and brightened up the half immensely from a Kidlington perspective.

After the break Paulton became a little more adventurous with their play and thus were leaving some room for the Kidlington players to play into.
In the event Paulton came close to drawing level in the 51st minute. Dale Evans flicked on a cross which went right across the face of goal before going out of play on the far side.
This was perhaps the nudge Kidlington's players needed to get going again and soon they were well and truly on the attack.
The second goal followed in the 60th minute after some excellent work from Darius Browne again gave Anaclet a site of goal which the little man lapped up driving the ball home. Browne had charged down visiting keepers AJ Sesay's clearance and when the ball fell invitingly for Odhiambo he did what he always does and found the back of the net.
In the 66th minute Paulton's Kailan Gould saw his long range attempt headed onto the bar by Kidlington skipper Tommy Franklin, but that was as close as the visitors came to scoring on the day.
After a flurry of substitutions Kidlington eventually netted their 3rd goal. Lewis Coyle who'd been on the bench to start with today linked up well with Tommy Castle to thunder an unstoppable shot past Sesay for 3 - 0. This goal really was all about quality, Tommy Castle ran from well inside his own half to leave defenders trailing in his wake before delivering in a great cross for Coyle who smashed the ball home from around 12 yards out.
Coyle very nearly added another late on when what looked a goal bound shot was deflected behind for a corner.
In injury time Kidlington's keeper Sam Warrell excelled himself to turn a header from close range from Paulton substitute David Sims round the post, to preserve his clean sheet.

All in all not a classic match but on the day Kidlington had all the aces up their sleeve and won quite convincingly in this league match.
