Kidlington FC are pleased to announce that Craig McKay will take over from Ben as the manager of the first team for season 24/25.
We had a strong interest in the role, even though we didn't advertise, which shows Kidlington FC must be do something right!
Craig won't be a stranger to most, as he worked as a coach under Ben Sadler and Paul Braithwaite. He comes with experience from coaching at Oxford United, Southampton and, more recently, Banbury United. The club wish him good luck and every success in his new position.
Here's what Craig had to say on his appointment:
“I am hugely grateful to be offered the opportunity to lead Kidlington FC and I can’t thank the trustees and committee enough for the faith they’ve shown in me by offering this opportunity. I look forward to working closely with my staff and Baz to ensure we give ourselves the best possible chance of hitting the ground running when the campaign begins, and that work starts in earnest,
“We clearly have to build on what has been a fantastic end to the season. Ben, the staff and players have shown great form over the last few weeks and I’m excited to see how we can evolve the group moving forwards,
“There are very good people at this football club and an extensive pathway for player development, I relish the chance to make sure we continue to be aligned with the excellent work the other managers are doing with their respective teams. I cannot wait to meet the players and get to work on the grass. I can assure everyone involved, I’ll be leaving no stone unturned to make sure we can build a winning team on the pitch”.
