Ardley gave a great account of themselves under new manager Paul Davis' stewardship until they were finally breached and the flood gates opened.

Kidlington got a very early scare when a harmless looking back-pass was misjudged by keeper Sam Warrell and the ball hit the post!

Up the other end both Brooks and Tommy Castle had efforts at goal but couldn't find the right angle to trouble keeper Kieran Beesley.

In between Ardley were playing decent stuff and they hit the woodwork again in the 19th minute. It was a speculative effort from Elias Katasoloudi, the lad fired over in a bending shot from the left of the park and saw his great attempt graze the outside of the far post.

The 1st goal eventually came though and what a goal it was, typical of Brooks too. He beat 2 players before sending in a screamer of a dipping drive which smashed into the net for 1-0 in the 28th minute.

After this goal Kidlington netted twice more before the break. Firstly Lewis Coyle shot home smartly after a cross form Tommy Castle and then after a Colyle shot had hit a post with a rasping shot Eric Odhiambo pounced after the ball wasn't cleared to fire us into a 3 goal lead with a fierce finish on 44 mins.

This was the score at the break and one in which new signing Joel Meade came on to replace Chris Weedon at the back after Weedon felt a reaction to his recent injury.

The match in this second half was now fairly one sided, but in saying that their was still time for a terrific performance from visiting keeper Beesley. The keeper virtually single handedly kept the score down saving time and time again after Kidlington rained down wave after wave of attacks on the Ardley goal.

The little magician Kidlington have in their ranks Lewis Coyle was the player to finally find a way past the stubborn keeper when he latched onto a fine through ball from flying winger Tommy Castle. Coyle received the ball at full pace and finished with great accuracy and power for 4 - 0 in the 55th minute.

in the 67th minute it was Brooks who scored Kidlington's 5th and his second of the night against one of his old sides. This goal bore testament to the strikers own individual talent as he again beat players on the way to lashing the ball past a Beesley.

As Kidlington now gradually took their foot off the gas a goal was scored by Ardley's Reece Batyliss in the 81st minute. A ball across the back line wasn't cleared away properly and Bayliss struck with a cool finish for 5 -1.

Still that must have been scant consolation for the visitors who witnessed Kidlington at times hit top form in this local derby match.

On the night Kidlington played some irrepressible football and with their injury situations beginning to turn in their favour again now hopes are still very high for a successful campaign this season.

There will also be news of another new signing in the coming hours as Kidlington again dip into the transfer market to bolster their ranks yet further.

Next up is another home game this time the visitors to Yarnton Road are Lydney Town, k.o. 3:00pm.
